Pilates Side Sit Up

Pilates (pi-la-teez) is an exercise system developed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920’s, which emphasizes strengthening the core (deep abdominal muscles) and increasing flexibility to improve posture and promote more efficient movement patterns. Pilates works several muscle groups simultaneously through smooth, continuous movements while focusing on breathing and stabilizing the core. The pilates method focuses on engaging the mind and body simultaneously.

 

Front Split

One of the best things about pilates is that it is low impact and relatively safe for a variety of people. It is used by dancers, athletes (men and women), seniors, cancer survivors, women rebounding from pregnancy and for rehabilitation. All exercises are developed with modifications to make the workout safe and challenging for a person of any fitness level.

Personal Training

Personal Training involves muscular strength, muscular endurance, body composition, cardiovascular endurance and flexibility. An initial assessment will be performed to get a baseline fitness level, and then a personalized program will be designed based on your desired goals. Periodic fitness assessments will be performed to monitor progress. Personal Training will put the "personal" back into your fitness routine.
